TO MAINTAIN A modicum of objectivity, I've abstained from doing a "review" of my other place of employ, Dorrian's Red Hand Restaurant. I've been associated with the place in many different kinds of employ for over 20 years, and have chosen to eschew looking like I was playing favorites.

However, my tenure here has to some small degree informed my love and knowledge of food—along with my dad being a lifelong cook/chef and living with various roommates who have enjoyed entertaining guests.

So it's not entirely unfair for me to reference the restaurant when my input influences the menu. I have over the years have created some of the dishes that have appeared on the menu, and last fall, decided to add some "specialty" burgers to supplement our already popular burger options.

So, for the upcoming menu, I decided to try a version of a blue cheese burger, which I will be calling the Blue Mountain Burger, which will be grilled to order and topped with melted blue cheese, steak sauce, hickory-smoked bacon, and fried onions.

I enjoyed my first spec order of the burger—as did the daytime bartender and waitress, and have less-than-humbly chosen to share its visual beauty with you.
