Vanessa's Finesse

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER. I'VE been trying to fit a visit to now well-known Vanessa's Dumplings for quite a while. Maybe over two years already. But my schedule for a long time has kept me very close to home here on the Upper East Side.

But now as I am presently on a sobriety kick, not having hangovers in the morning has allowed me to actually leave the house when I have free time and actually do things!

One of those things this past weekend was attending a dear friend's art exhibit down on the Lower East Side, having missed her last several shows due to at-home recovery efforts from the night before. It was a great show, a great reunion, and a great unplanned kicker to have a Vanessa's Dumpling outpost just blocks away from the venue.

So, after her show, I finally stopped by to grab dinner to go: 4 delicious fried chive and pork dumplings, 3 tasty fried pork buns, and a section of yummy sesame pancake—stuffed with Peking duck—that was the size of a large slice of pizza and three times as thick.

Also great was the total price of $5.25. I look forward to more sober days of getting figuratively drunk off of more experiences like I had this day.
