Stuffed at Vanessa's
CHINATOWN, NYC | New York City wouldn't be New York City if it didn't house and hide as many Gotham-native appreciated and revered local gems as it does world-famous spots. That goes for arts, architecture, and, of course, food.
Chinatown holds may itself, chief among them is Vanessa's Dumpling House, churning out trays upon trays of handmade dumplings of tasty variety, and offering them on a menu with other Chinese food staples (scallion pancakes, roast buns, noodles, bubble teas) and all of it for seemingly impossible low, not-of-this-city prices.
Four solidly stuffed, hefty, delicious only cost a buck (yes, $1!), and even with an appetite, you'd be hard-pressed to spend 10 dollars on food before you were full.
There are 3 iterations of Vanessa's Dumplings (or Dumpling House), and all boast a utilitarian dining room, that churns through droves of customers at a quick clip—whether eating in or getting takeout.
And the fact that you can get 50 dumplings (frozen for transport) to go for just $10, takeout is hugely tempting bearly every visit.
