SALT OFFERS A SWEET EXPERIENCE
Thanks to a friend’s recommendation (and many seconded by others) I discovered a wonderful eatery, more than meeting the requests I made for a conveniently located restaurant I had yet visited, that had something fresh and different on its menu while still maintain a Bajan vibe and aesthetic.
That place turned out to be Salt Cafe in Hastings, whose menu offered relatively unique items such as a crispy tuna roll, a nice spin on some fusion cuisine with herb falafel bao buns (that came with truffle fries), an excellently executed version of the more loacl appreciated delicacy of crispy pig ears, and a S'mores version of a bao bun which was richly delicious enough for me to vow to have one no more than twice a year.
And as it is only 1 6-minute ZR taxi van trip away, I can see this easily becoming my newest “regular”. (The only other request that I made was to have the restaurant be seaside. There is no beach or ocean view from the restaurant, but there is a grand one right around the corner where the boardwalk offered me a an opportunity to serenely walk off some of portion of the ample, wonderful meal on my way home.
